Volunteer Information
The ICC is able to serve 6,000 families in need each year because of the thousands of individuals and groups from our community who help by volunteering at the center.
The ICC is seeking
volunteers to sort, organize and display clothing, accept donations and assist clients. Short-term and long-term volunteers, groups or individuals, hourly or daily commitments are welcomed and appreciated. Students may receive community service credit. Become a
Donor Greeter,
Children's Activity Area (CCA) Assistant or a Desk Receptionist and help us to fulfill our mission.

About The Interfaith Clothing Center
The ICC has been helping qualified low-income families in Montgomery Country stretch their dollars for over 20 years. Coming from every corner of Montgomery County, clients are young and old, male and female, single and married, and span all races. They are working poor, homeless, disabled, recent immigrants, parolees, welfare recipients and seniors living on fixed incomes. Over 100 congregations, social service organizations and government agencies refer clients to our center.
Thousands of individuals, businesses, schools, camps, service organizations and congregations donate time and goods, which makes our program possible. Donations of clothing, shoes, and household items are distributed to its clients during shopping hours throughout the week. Clients select and receive free of charge, the items they need and want.
Interfaith Works assists over 6,000 low-income and homeless families, over 16,000 individuals, yearly in this way. By providing basic necessities free of charge we enable our clients to use their scarce financial resources for other pressing needs, including rent, food, transportation, and health care.
The center also distributes
backpacks and new school supplies to students every August, and provides
layettes to new mothers, because all children in our community deserve to have the basics.
