Executive Director Becky Wagner Begins Leave of Absence
The Interfaith Works' Board of Directors has approved a leave of absence for Executive Director Becky Wagner. Effective June 1, 2010, Becky will take a leave of absence to pursue her candidacy for County Council At-Large. The primary election is September 14th.
Barbara Garlock, IW's former Development Director, has stepped in to serve as our Interim Director. The Board has planned carefully for this transition and has confidence that Interfaith Works is in excellent hands, and that service to those most in need will continue with our tradition of respect and care. Barbara Garlock's direct line effective June 1st will be 301-315-1099.

Barbara Garlock previously managed fundraising and community relations for Interfaith Works, and brings a decade of experience assisting non-profits with strategic, marketing and fundraising work, including agencies working in the arts, human services and diseases. Barbara has a background in management consulting, providing counsel for start -ups and fortune 500 firms in marketing and finance, and a career in retail management, including management positions with Federated Department Stores and Macy's. Barbara holds an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BA from Wellesley College. Effective June 1, 2010, she serves as Interfaith Works' Interim Executive Director while Becky Wagner takes a leave of absence.

Deborah Lambert joined the staff of Interfaith Works in May 2009. Ms. Lambert came to IW after her retirement from Verizon, where she had broad executive experience as a manager in many lines of business, including strategic planning, business development, finance, marketing, operations and program quality review. Ms. Lambert has significant experience as a volunteer in the community as well, including committee service in her congregation and over 10 years of service as a key member of the Board of Directors of Interfaith Works, where she chaired the Program Review Committee, and brought best practices in program evaluation to IW. She was educated at Temple University, is a Chartered Financial Analyst and is active in the Association for Investment Management and Research and in the Washington Society of Investment Analysts.

Susan Mitchell

Susan Mitchell has 20+ years of experience in local and national non-profit development with organizations in the health care, arts and animal welfare arenas. Sue's background encompasses fund-raising, communication, volunteer management, organizational branding, program development, and graphic design. In her role with Interfaith Works, Ms. Mitchell oversees fund-raising initiatives, donor relations and community outreach. She was educated at the University of Maryland and has a long history of community - based volunteering.
Volunteer Coordinator for Homeless Services

Cindy Hall manages Interfaith Works partnership with the Fannie Mae Foundation, the annual Help the Homeless Program, and serves as IW's Volunteer Coordinator. After decades of volunteer work in the social services, Cindy entered the non-profit work force in 1991, and was Deputy Director of Hand to Hand, a grassroots program to help the homeless and low-income families in Montgomery County. Cindy came to Interfaith Works when Hand to Hand was merged into Interfaith Works. Cindy holds a BA in Psychology (High Honors) from the University of Ilinois.

Priscilla Fox-Morrill

Priscilla Fox-Morrill supervises all of Interfaith Work's homeless programs, including Community Based Shelter, Horizons House, Sophia House and Community Vision of Silver Spring. Ms. Fox-Morrill has been involved in homeless services in our community for sixteen years including seven years as manager of two emergency overflow shelter programs in Montgomery County. Her graduate education in Counseling and 25 years managing businesses have provided the tools to effectively manage the diverse homeless programs at IW. Ms. Fox-Morrill has served as Chair of the Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless and has been an appointee to the Governor's Advisory Board on Homelessness, representing Maryland's Eighth Congressional District.
Program Director, Friends in Action & Interfaith Housing Coalition
Monica Barberis-Young

Monica Barberis -Young oversees Interfaith Work's Friends in Action and Interfaith Housing Coalition program, responsible for recruitment, training and supervision of staff, mentors and interns. Ms. Barberis - Young brings a wealth of social service outreach experience to IW. She has held positions with Rockville Senior Center providing crisis assistance to low -income seniors, and, overseas, has worked for US Uniformed Services, counseling members of the Armed Forces and their families in areas of substance and domestic abuse, as well as creating and implementing education and social programs focused on meeting the resettlement needs of diverse international communities. She is fluent in Spanish, French and German.
Program Director, Interfaith Clothing Centers
Sabrina Wilson

Sabrina Wilson oversees Interfaith Work's distribution programs, the Interfaith Clothing Center in Rockville and the Hans Rosenfeld Upcounty Interfaith Clothing Center in Gaithersburg. Ms. Wilson brings with her over a decade of experience as an executive in retail merchandising, including positions in store management and mall marketing and brings her energy, expertise and merchant's eye to our agency. Ms. Wilson has also worked in nonprofit management and as a contractor for public programs, including positions with First Town Downtown in Windsor, CT and most recently as Director of Finance and Administration with a large Job Corps Center in Laurel, Maryland.
Program Director, Congregation and Community Emergency Support
Reverend Dr. Rosetta Robinson

Rev. Dr. Rosetta Robinson is Director of Interfaith Work's Congregation and Community Emergency Support. In that role, Rev. Dr. Robinson works with IW's membership base of 130 congregations, and coordinating grassroots emergency support efforts. In addition, Rev. Dr. Robinson oversees IW's Hand to Hand and Project Safety Net programs, administering these grant and loan programs that provide cash and support for families and individuals in crisis. Rev. Dr. Robinson serves on the Council of Churches of Greater Washington and the Montgomery County Black Ministers Conference, and represents IW on the Montgomery Council Local Board on Homelessness as well as other civic organizations that assist the homeless in our community. Prior to joining IW in 1995, Rev. Dr. Robinson had a successful career as a print and broadcast journalist, including work with the Associated Press, the Washington Post, NPR and WJLA - TV.
