Interfaith Works, formerly Community Ministry of Montgomery County, is a non-sectarian interfaith coalition of more than 150 member and affiliated congregations representing over 75,000 families of many faiths, working together to meet the needs of the poor in Montgomery County, Maryland.

      We need you! Help us provide Thanksgiving Baskets
      for our Friends in Action families.
Friends in Action is planning to serve more families than ever
      this holiday season and we need your help! FIA has provided
      UNIQUE Thanksgiving food baskets to their families in need for
      years. Assembling these baskets is a great family or group 
      activity and shows children about helping their neighbors. For
      more information, contact Betsy at 301-315-1104. Baskets
      will be delivered to IW on Saturday, Nov. 21st at 10am.

Featured in Washington Woman!
Check out "The Thanksgiving Sweet Potato Pie Family" from
the October Issue of Washington Woman. The article tells the
      story of a terrific local family that bakes 250 sweet potato pies
      for neighbors in need each Thanksgiving. Last year, 65 of their
      pies were given to IW's Friends in Action client families.
     
      The Gazette covers an IW Help the Homeless Walk.
     
As part of Fannie Mae's Help the Homeless program, IW holds
      about 40 mini-walks at local schools and congregations every 
      fall to help educate our community about homelessness. Read
      this terrific story about our first walk at Forest Knolls Elem.
      And a walk at Potomac Elem. was featured in the Alamanac!

IW 101 is a one hour open house designed to help you find out what you want to know about IW and get your questions answered.

Walk With Us On The Mall On Saturday, Nov. 21st!

Join IW at Fannie Mae's 2009 Help the Homeless Walkathon. Register on-line at www.helpthehomelessdc.org OR register that day on the Mall. To ensure that IW receives all of its registration dollars, select "Interfaith Works" from the drop-down menu on the registration page AND "check-in" at the walk on the Mall and designate "Interfaith Works - MD037." Every walker counts and all registratin dollars come directly to IW! Hope to see you there!
